Wardrobe Hero: the Field Jacket

Wardrobe Hero: the Field Jacket

Wardrobe heroes are the pieces that pull everything together; the keystone of your closet. An absolute necessity for getting dressed on the double! They are tried and true staples so adaptable they can be styled with a variety of different personal styles and trends. Beyond the composition of the hero itself there are three key factors that make a hero a hero: functionality, quality, and fit. It must be a functional piece that you can throw on to walk the dog or for a night out with the girls. It must be of good quality to sustain the many, many wears and washes (because there’s nothing worse than wearing out a beloved hero.) Wearing It Now: Tomboy Sundae with a Cherry on Top

Essential to dressing on the double is stocking your wardrobe with a few pieces that really put an exclamation point on the outfit, and in this case a rather red exclamation point. These loafers were a recent purchase and I am utterly smitten. I have always loved loafers but never wore them much because the ones I had weren’t comfortable. This pair is comfortable, sturdy, and timeless. With plenty of room in the toe box I could even get away with wearing trouser socks with them when it gets cold out. Read More

Becoming a mom has been an eye opening experience for me in many ways. One aspect in particular has been the impact on my personal style and outlook on fashion in general. When you only have ten minutes to get yourself sorted in the morning, building a functioning wardrobe makes getting dressed in a pinch simple and fun!
